Our school, CHIREC, was established in 2005 under the Pavan Education and Charitable Trust in Madhugiri, Karnataka, by Mr. Bhasker Reddy B.E., the Founder Chairman and Administrator, and Mrs. Sailasree K., the Secretary and Principal. It began with 125 students from Nursery to 4th Standard.
To provide quality education in two-tier towns like Madhugiri, where good schools are scarce and parents often have to send their children to hostels or relocate to nearby district headquarters, we started this school. Today, it educates around 1,120 students with 62 teachers and 30 non-teaching staff. We also have four buses serving different areas around Madhugiri.
Over the past 18 years, we have celebrated numerous successes from our students. In 2022-23, our student Nisarga B.K. achieved the state first rank by securing 625/625. Another student, Vaishnavi N.S., achieved the state third rank in 2018-19 with a score of 623/625. We have also received the ‘Orange’ School Award for three consecutive years from the Politicu Central Board Karnataka and the Karnataka Education Department.
Special Courses Offered in Our School
We offer Foundation courses from 6th Standard to 10th Standard to prepare students for PUC and entrance exams like NEET, CET, JEE, and Olympiad exams. These courses, in collaboration with DIYODES, a STEM education company, provide Science activity kits for hands-on experience with science concepts.
STEM education uses an “involve and learn” methodology, essential for 21st-century educators and learners to understand topics practically using technology, engineering, and mathematical calculations. This approach helps students become avid learners and explorers.
For the past five years, we have collaborated with “LEAD” to connect management, parents, curriculum, teaching, assessments, and remediation. This collaboration ensures that every child’s learning can be achieved, aligning with our mission.
To cultivate discipline in young students, we started “Bharath Scouts & Guides,” India’s national Scouting & Guiding association founded in 1950. This national voluntary organization promotes the development of young people, helping them achieve their full potential as responsible citizens and community members.
Inter-School Competition
Through inter-school competitions, students gain valuable experiences, building self-confidence, communication skills, and critical thinking abilities. At CHIREC, we conduct the inter-school competition ‘Jnana Sourabha’ with events like Quiz, Debate, Seminar, and Singing. Winners are awarded cash prizes and rolling trophies.
Support for Economically Backward Students
Our institution aims to provide quality education to economically backward students. We offer subsidies to these students and provide full support to those whose performance is above average. So far, we have supported over 40 students through this initiative.
Our students have participated in many science competitions conducted by the Government of India, such as the Inspire Award, National Science Congress, and Yuva Vignani Program by ISRO, winning several awards. Gifted children like Gunashree and Rishikesh Mujumdar have also participated in musical competitions like Raga Mandara (Amogh TV) and Sarigamapa Mega Audition by Zee Kannada.
Student Counselling
Every school needs counselors to understand their students’ academic performance. To ensure students are physically strong, cognitively powerful, emotionally stable, morally credible, socially responsible, and educationally advanced, Mrs. Sailasree, our principal, also serves as a student counsellor. She assesses students with learning difficulties and counsels 10th Standard students and others who need interventions.
